Timing by Leo Crocker Rogers There is a saying that timing is everything. And it is, but it is so far from what that saying normally implies that comment is required. Timing: when to get married, when to have children, when to move, when to ask for a raise, when to take a risk, when to be conservative? Even, when to die? In the stock market, if one always buys high and sells low, one’s timing would be immaculate, and one would be stone poor Human promoted timing is a roll of the dice at best and more often is ill advised. Jesus thought his crucifixion was ill timed. He wanted a postponement. But that was not to be the case. Timing was everything. In his case it was to prove he was the Messiah. There is, in practice, only one timing that is good and that is divine timing. We listen, and then we move. Moving before or after the divine is just a postponement until we get in the flow. ************* Our ability to govern ourselves is based on moral discipline, a quality of unlimited capacity within all men and women. It is a medal of honor. It is not won, it is awarded by the grace of the divine. It is time that all of us listen, including politicians and economists. Now is the only time.
