It Is Our Country

In Russia, it is Putin’s country. He goes to a town that has shut down making Russian busses. The company could not pay its employees. Across a table, Putin throws a pen at the manager and says, "Sign this." It was a contract to rehire all the laid off employees. Now where did he get the money to make that happen? Is the Ruble following the debt dollar? Anything you can do, we can do better.

Robert McNamara, Medal of Freedom recipient, said he lied about the Viet Nam war. The lie had no upside for the US but cost the US thousands of dead soldiers. His assessment of the situation was wrong – Viet Nam being the start of the domino theory where countries would systematically fall into line with the Soviets. Rather Viet Nam was a local war, even a remote war.

Are there local and remote wars brewing and even in full swing today to which McNamara would send troops? He would not, and he asked us to learn from his arrogant ways.

The State of Arizona keeps saying, "The budget will be balanced." "Will be." Some say, "Let us borrow now to save tomorrow." How, exactly does that work? Well, it works if there is growth in the State to repay present debts with future income. But to achieve that growth, the proposed key is for individuals to borrow so they spend so the State can tax them. This is the economic domino theory. Borrow at the bottom so the top can grow and pay its bills. McNamara was wrong. So is the State of Arizona and perhaps California. And wrong may be some politicians even higher than that. Let’s us not be wrong. When we are in a pit, the one thing we do not want to do is keep digging. Whose country is it? It is ours.

What are we to do for this county? Common Sense indicates that we are to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly. Interestingly, those qualities can be applied to whatever we do be we a Putin or McNamara, or ourselves.

There was a carpenter that went from village to city teaching, preaching, healing through spiritual means alone.

He had some fishermen proteges that did likewise teaching, preaching, and healing through spiritual means alone.

So what are we to do? We have Putin and McNamara as examples and even others who are in the news each day. We also have the carpenter and fishermen. It is our choice.

What if we are, daily, sincere and tell the truth to bring glory to Common Sense. What if in all we do, techno-wise or non-techno-wise, we do justly as we love mercy and walk humbly?

In the USA, we daily have the opportunity to do things right. It is our country. Let’s do it right.
