It Is All Good by Leo Crocker Rogers A Story of America as I love to think of her. I wished to attend a theatrical performance. It involved some 70 children participating. To boot, Rick, Jannel, Melody, and some ten or so of their relatives were in the play or managing, producing, and providing the sound. It was a big deal, and one I wished to enjoy. Dayna, a friend, was kind to attend with me. She rode her bicycle to a light rail stop, parked and locked it, rode the light rail to near my house where I met her. From there, we motored to the theatrical performance which was a dynamic event that we both enjoyed. When she returned to the light rail station near her home, the bike had been stolen. She filed a police report. What was common between us was that we knew that good was in progress. I told her that I would replace the road bike. We had bought the bike together, and it was her first road bike which she also rode back and forth to work. Because rode bikes are expensive, I asked Sue and Steve, committed cyclist and dear friends, if they could help find a replacement bike for Dayna. They both jumped on the task. Within a week, Sue had found two replacement bikes, both from people who said they would give their bike to Dayna. Now that is American. When Dayna went to Joe's home to pick up his bike, she was surprised beyond belief, as was I, when I saw it. My Bianchi road bike is celeste green, a green that is to say the least, distinctive. Joe's bike, which he had repainted was a soft, subdued, and equally distinctive orange/red. It immediately catches your eye and says, "I am friendly and to be respected.". It is outstanding. The bike itself had a Schwinn seat with the Schwinn identity tag intact. Its brakes were immediate, the derailers and chain were not only clean and oiled but in perfect working order. The handle bars were newly wrapped and padded. This bike fit Dayna. The frame was just here size, a full 700 tire-type, but the top bar height and length fit here so much better than her previous road bike. Too, the new bike had pedal cages which her previous bike did not have. The tires were new, full black, and they made the frame look stalwart. When Dayna rode the bike home, she texted me to say, "I love this bike." What I felt was that Sue and Joe had made her cycling experience a quantum jump more enjoyable. There is a saying that is bantered around with sometimes less than sincere intent, but the words nonetheless have true meaning. The saying comes from Genesis 1:32 where God made everything, and it all is good. The saying is, "It is all good." Mankind cannot pervert the works of God. God is not mocked. Good was being done at every turn in this whole scenario. Even the robber was temporarily blessed because of the generosity of Cindy and Joe, the two who immediately offered to replace Dayna's bike. The care of Dayna going to the theatrical performance with me; the family that put together the dynamic theatrical performance; the person who needed Dayna"s bike for whatever reason (He/she is living the best life he/she knows); the energy and willingness of Sue and Steve; the generosity of Cindy and Joe; the great care that Joe put into making his gift the very finest he knew; and Dayna's joy in having a better ride were all good, and a good that could not have been any other way. When we walk in the Spirit, we are blessed by the Spirit. It is all good. God bless America.
