Honest Cats

When the former US Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Paulson, warned that there was going to be a credit crunch, few knew what Paulson meant. What is a credit crunch? Everyone had loans, sure, but they were paying them. So for what was there to be concerned? Now if Henry had said, AIG, who owns your mortgage, is going bankrupt because it had squandered your money, and you are going to lose your home, I think people would have taken notice. But the federal government used language that was over our heads so we all went along up the ramp to the slaughter house. Even today, the words being used are manipulative, jargon, and esoteric – stimulus plan. The honest to goodness truth is that to fund the projects the government has in mind and at the same time keep the dollar strong against other currencies, those who still have jobs, those who managed their companies without greed, those who have been honest in their commercial dealings, those who have not used credit to excess to run their businesses or buy on speculation are going to have to financially support those that did speculate and over-borrow their capacity to repay to the point of greed. And how is that going to be done? Those who had integrity are going to be taxed to pay the bill for those that cheated.

Not Iraq, not Russia, not South America, not oil, but the honest individuals paying for the transgressions of the non-honest, this will be the test of democracy. It is always from within that the truth of anything is tested..

An honest man making an honest product to serve an honest need while making an honest profit is different than the parasites that leverage money to make money. Money making money leads to corruption. Money represents worth, not potential worth.

Think of the difference between the honest and the greedy as the difference between cats and dogs. Ask a cat what time it is, and he has not the slightest. Ask a dog what time it is and he says, without hesitating, "Now, now is the time." Making the dogs pay for all the ways of the cats will eventually kill all the dogs. What is needed is not to tax the dogs more and more, it is for the cats to know that we all live in the same country, and it is to their benefit that we all know what time it is – how to be honest. Ever try to train a cat? Well, it is that time.

"The time for thinkers has come.", honest thinkers.

By the way, my cat goes for walks with me every night. And who taught my cat to do so, my dog just before he passed on.

All good things are possible.
