Common Behavior

Wonderful, talented, charismatic people have flashes of genius. They really do. And it is not only energizing but a joy to be in their presence at that time. But common behavior outweighs flashes of genius. When we do what we say we are going to do when we say we are going to do it, and when we do what we know is correct , but only when it is convenient for us, we are opportunist. We may commit when our heart is moved, and we mean it. At the time, we are all for the idea or the plan, but when our heart jumps to another equally enticing idea or the first idea begins to wane in flash, our heart goes elsewhere. And when it does this over and over again, it becomes religious -- a religion of saying we are going to help everyone that moves our heart, but only at our convenience. This only works with others of the same mold. It is a clique society.

Justification of what we know is questionable is legal thinking.

Said one horse yoked to the other, "If we do not completely agree on where we are going, let us not take the fist step."

It takes a sharp ax to cut soft wood as well as hard. The condition of the wood should not dictate the preparation of the ax.

The otter. If it is not experiential, he/she does not do it. An otter will play with a stick or a pebble for hours. It loves to rub against other otters. The greater the movement and confusion an otter experiences, the happier the otter. The otter’s utter self-indulgence seems to be a protection from predators who cannot see a pattern of life and thus plan an attack. The hawk and fox just watch in dismay.

What do you call a toothless bear? A gummy bear.

Ups and downs are part of life, but to be successful, there has to be chemistry.

When you are successful on the first attempt, stop. Only those that fail have to repeat.

I am in the beverage distribution business. I serve beer at ball games.

Have you ever done anything that you could say, "That was the best 50 seconds of my life? Why not? Lack of courage? Possibly. Lack of opportunity? Possibly. Lack of training? Most likely. We just do not wish to hit the bricks -- getting out the door every day. Training.

Life is a training ground. We absolutely must get out the door every single day. It is common behavior that makes the difference.
